Short-Term Exchanges of Groups of Pupils
1st Day:The student exchange program started with a welcoming ceremony in Atatürk Cultural Centre. Firstly, we watched the school and country presentations of all participants’ school. Our pupils in school choir sang some songs, they played some instruments and folk dance group presented some traditional dances
The teachers visited the Provincial National Education Director
Different kinds of crayons and finger paints were given to the students and they drew pictures and wrote some slogans on a large, empty canvas about the title of our Project. And the teachers made a meeting to talk about next meeting in Latvia.
2nd Day: All the teachers and students joined a trekking in Canyons. Before starting the trekking, a science lesson was done as an outdoor learning activity. The title was testing the properties of water, so two samples of water ( one from river and one from bottled water) were taken and tested by the science teacher. He explained the PH levels , hardness and conductivity properties of water.
We had a lunch and visited the glass terrace and Blaundus ancient city.
3rd Day: All the teachers and students visited “the Drinking Water Treatment Plant”. We saw the natural water spring comes from mountains and the dam built for storing excess amount of water. Then the officer gave information about the sanitation processes of water.
4th Day: We made a tour to Pamukkale Travertines, Kaklık Cave and The ancient city of Laodicea. We found the opportunity of observing the different structures resulting from different properties of water.
5th Day: All participants were divided into two groups.
A power point presentation was made about the water by one of our English teachers.
Marbling art – The participants created colorful patterns by sprinkling and brushing color pigments on a pan of oily water and then transformed this pattern to paper by the help of our Art teacher.
